About the role

- Unloads trucks and receives supplies ensuring that all items are undamaged and that the material is correct.
- Checks delivered quantity and catalog number with packing slip and notifies supervisor immediately of any discrepancies.
- Pulls department orders using pick tickets and separates order by department with 98% accuracy.
- Delivers supplies, furniture and equipment to department, as necessary. Has authorized personnel sign for any items delivered.
- Stores all warehouse supplies in proper place after items have been checked and received.
- Drives hospital Purchasing vehicle to pick up and/or deliver supplies. Also, drive forklift to store supplies in warehouse or pull supplies from racks
- Assists and takes initiative in handling issues of a non-routine nature and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Six months in warehouse and/or stocking related work.
- Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Current Alabama Driver's License.
- Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Hand trucks, carts, copy machine, inventory listing, telephone, forklift, power pallet jack.
- Specialized Skills: Ability to form effective working relationships, with a variety of employees, management and customers. Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical Requirements: Routine bending, stooping, squatting, and overhead use of arms for retrieving and stocking shelves. Ability to; climb ladders 15 to 20 times per day to retrieve supplies; Pushes heavy carts weighing in excess of 200 pounds; Visual acuity and physical mobility necessary to operate a forklift and 2ton truck. Requires considerable walking and standing; must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Verbal communication and hearing ability to communicate with a multitude of customers. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job.
