Energy Solutions is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to partner with content Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop new hire and continuing education training materials that are instructionally sound and grounded in adult learning principles.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define and document learning objectives, desired outcomes, and overall requirements of learning solutions
- Recommend and support instructional solutions to meet a variety of needs using appropriate technology and grounded in educational theory
- Design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences in multiple modalities with clear strategies and methods to achieve desired learning outcomes
- Work cross functionally and manage multiple concurrent and interdependent instructional design projects
- Stay up to date of new learning approaches and technologies to continuously improve content and delivery methods
- Revise and update training materials in response to changes in procedures and/or based on needs analysis
- Develop assessment methods to measure learner acceptance, comprehension, and application of processes and systems knowledge
- Develop effective learning experiences leveraging a variety of media, such as video and audio clips, online interactivity, simulations, and illustrations and diagrams
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology, Adult Education, Communication, closely related field or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ of experience managing curriculum development projects and initiatives in formal education and or corporate learning.
- Working knowledge of adult learning models in training design such as the ADDIE learning model
- Experience designing training programs in multiple delivery methods including traditional instructor-led courses, virtual (webinar) courses (synchronous and asynchronous distance learning,) self-paced course materials, multi-media e-learning courses, and training programs that support end-user programs
- Proficient in eLearning authoring tools and other software for instructional design works such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or similar
- Video editing skills with Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier or similar
- Audio editing experience using Audacity or similar
- Learning management system experience including loading courses, troubleshooting system training highly desired. Experience with Absorb LMS preferred.
- Strong PowerPoint skills and graphic design experience preferred
- Ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to successfully deliver and communicate complex technical training
