Responsibilities:
The role of the Physical Therapist is to evaluate, design, and implement a patient’s plan of care. Each Plan of Care is created to increase, maintain, or restore function, minimize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.
Qualifications:
A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited program is required. Some directly related experience is preferred. Candidates must also have certification and licensure, or be eligible to obtain certification and licensure, as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia. Current BLS certification is required, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Works calmly in a fast-paced healthcare facility.
Works independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Strong leadership skills, as well as strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and EHR systems.
Implements actionable plans to meet established goals and objectives.
Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills.
Communicates effectively and has strong public speaking skills.
Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Develop strong relationships with patients and their families and communicate with empathic skills.
As needed, must be able to lift and support patients during therapy sessions.
