The Role + Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst, Decision Analysis is a key partner to the Planning, Distribution, and Merchandising teams, responsible for developing reporting, improving business processes, and turning complex data into actionable insights. This role helps drive stronger decision-making across the organization by identifying reporting opportunities, enhancing existing tools, and building scalable solutions that improve visibility, accuracy, and cross-functional efficiency.

Working closely with brand, divisional, and technical partners, this individual will support both recurring and ad hoc analysis for senior leadership while helping translate business needs into effective reporting and long-term process improvements. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, technically curious, and comfortable operating at the intersection of business and technology, with a strong foundation in retail analytics, reporting, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting solutions for the Planning, Distribution, and Merchandising teams, including recurring reporting with senior leadership and C-suite visibility.
  • Aggregate, simplify, and analyze data from multiple sources to support timely, accurate, and actionable business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data integrity, and business processes, and help translate those opportunities into scalable long-term solutions.
  • Partner with brand and divisional leaders to understand reporting needs, prototype new tools, and improve the effectiveness of existing reports.
  • Support ad hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives as needed, with the ability to flex between day-to-day priorities and broader cross-functional projects.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business and technical teams, translating business needs into clear requirements and ensuring solutions align with stakeholder goals.
  • Lead the rollout, training, and adoption of new reporting initiatives, while identifying future process and tool enhancements.
  • Utilize technical and analytical knowledge to audit data, identify process gaps, and implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain reporting tools and supporting data structures across platforms including Power BI, Snowflake, Excel, and SQL.
  • Independently manage meetings, timelines, and deliverables with a high degree of ownership, organization, and follow-through.
  • Partner with and mentor other analysts across the team to help strengthen analytical capability and support continued team development.
  • Apply foundational knowledge of relational databases and analytical data modeling to connect multiple data sources for reporting and analysis.
  • Leverage existing tools and technologies, including PowerApps and related automation solutions, to support improved workflow and business processes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2–5 years of analytics experience in retail or a related field, with exposure to inventory management, demand forecasting, and supply chain concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formula building and familiarity with VBA.
  • Experience developing reporting and working with large data sets from multiple sources to improve accuracy, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and analytical data modeling.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, ideally Microsoft Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of reporting development and business process analysis, with the ability to identify opportunities for workflow optimization.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality work in a timely manner
