About the role

The Senior Practice Manager provides operational and administrative support to providers, including Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Rehab Psychologists/Neuropsychologists, and PM&R physicians in the outpatient rehab hospital setting.   This includes clinical oversight of care provided to maintain the highest standards of quality care, facilitation of revenue cycle, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.   

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the day to day administration of the department, encompassing operational, administrative and financial areas. 
  2. Accomplishes human resource strategies by determining accountabilities, communicating and enforcing values, policies and procedures, implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, planning, monitoring, and appraising and reviewing job contributions. 
  3. Formulates and recommends annual operating budget in salary and supply areas; works with subordinate staff in identifying budgetary requirements oversees proficiencies in billing and coding activities. Monitors variance activity on a monthly basis.
  4. Develops policies and procedures consistent with sound operational practice and as required by institution and regulatory agencies.
  5. Maintains legal and accreditation compliance, supporting and upholding hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environment and infection control and anticipation of emerging issues.
  6. Serves as liaison to all levels of Mount Sinai Health System leadership.
  7. Supervises and coordinates various personnel activities including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, and training, disciplining and making salary increase recommendations.
  8. Fosters an environment of open communication and team work in support of the department and organization’s goals and objectives.
  9. Provides information by preparing and analyzing statistical, operational and other reports for leadership, and participates in meetings to receive and disseminate departmental information and direction.
  10. Assists in the development of new methods, procedures and/or processes to increase efficiency and to improve service deliver, production, equipment performance, scheduling and quality control.
  11. Ensures adequate staffing for unexpected/emergency coverage.
  12. Provides work direction, guidance, coaching and training for staff.
  13. Performs other related duties.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years clinical experience.  10+ years preferred.  Supervisory or Managerial experience preferred.

License Requirement:

NYS License in PT, OT or SLP.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $95,450.00 - $144,039.88 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
