About the role

How you will helpLeverage your technical revenue accounting expertise in the role of Revenue Recognition Director on the Finance team at HealthVerity! This is a new role that is designed for a driven accounting leader with a background in delivering cloud-based revenue recognition solutions in a public accounting or corporate setting who is looking to build their career within a rapidly expanding technology company. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing the monthly revenue recognition and accounting process and related internal and external reporting, supporting our PwC audit, preparing monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors and ensuring compliance with ASC 606, IFRS 15 and U.S. GAAP requirements. The Revenue Recognition Director will also be tasked with taking ownership of special projects on the Finance team, automating processes and playing an active role in the coaching & mentoring of accounting staff.
What you will do• Lead review of customer contracts to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606)• Proactively partner with Sales, Commercial Operations, Pricing and Finance during contract negotiations and provide suggestions and assistance in revenue recognition optimization• Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting position papers documenting rationale and conclusions• Oversee the review of non-standard contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies• Participate in in key strategic initiatives and provide full support for company initiatives to establish effective sales and operations planning and revenue management processes• Oversee the monthly revenue recognition and accounting process and related internal and external reporting including account reconciliations of contract assets/liabilities and accounts receivable/reserves as well as revenue forecasting• Lead revenue and receivables SOX internal control implementation readiness, including documentation of controls and process narratives, identification of control gaps and risks, and implementation of effective internal controls• Prepare, develop, and maintain accounting policies related to revenue recognition• Oversee and direct process improvement initiatives, finding solutions to complex revenue, billing and accounts receivable issues• Support annual/quarterly audit process and lead/assist with special projects as necessary• Collaborate with other Finance department team members to support overall goals and objectives

Desired Skills and Experience• Bachelor’s Degree with Accounting or Finance concentration• 8-10+ years of progressive technical revenue accounting experience, particularly in a public accounting environment working on high-growth SaaS company engagements • Revenue recognition (ASC 606, IFRS 15) expertise, including understanding of the leading practices and ability to facilitate the business’ most complex requirements• CPA or CPA candidate a plus; Big 4 and/or large regional CPA firm experience required• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to concisely articulate complex accounting and reporting concepts to audiences with varying degrees of financial knowledge • Possessing a high sense of urgency, ability to interact with multiple levels within the organization and be an effective team player• Experience with Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred• Highly Proficient in Microsoft ExcelBase salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $100,000 -170,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
