Competent Software Engineer - Fraud Prevention Team
ING Wholesale Banking is looking for a competent software engineer to strengthen its DevOps team that delivers a sophisticated platform to detect cyber fraud. As part of the omnichannel tribe, the purpose of your team is to ensure ING will be the safest bank and we will be leading in fraud control.

Job Description
Your focus will be on building and improving ING’s:
- Platform for detecting and mitigating fraud and cybercrime for ING Wholesale Banking Customers, which supports real-time detection over multiple digital channels and transaction processing.
- In addition to working with complex data analysis solutions, you will also contribute to:
- Streamlining our continuous improvement processes by deploying those improvements into production with Ops colleagues.
- Improving our continuous integration, increasing our automated test coverage, and helping us get to the next level of maturity with respect to Continuous Delivery.
Your work environment
You will work in the dynamic and challenging environment of the IT organization of ING Global Digital Channels. We operate according to a Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering IT solutions. The focus is on high-quality mission-critical software delivered in time using iterative development with regular milestone demos to the business, so that at the end there are no surprises about what we build.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering.
- 2-3 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Java.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and microservices.
- Experience with Kafka.
- Good understanding of stream processing.
- Understanding of Cyber Security principles.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD processes.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Good to have:
- Experience with:
- Kubernetes or similar container orchestrator
- Redis or similar KV storage
- Elasticsearch or similar NoSQL databases
- Prometheus / Grafana or similar monitoring solutions
- Experience with antifraud systems.
- Basic knowledge of at least one modern scripting language (e.g., python, bash, golang)
