Senior Software Engineer, Frontend

RoleRegrello is seeking a US-based Senior Frontend Web Engineer to backfill the coding efforts of our VP of Engineering (a frontend/design veteran who is ready to "hang up the keyboard" and focus full-time on organizational growth). In this influential individual-contributor role, you will collaborate closely with our senior engineers, junior engineers, and product team to design, develop, maintain, and scale frontend features across our web platform. If you love delivering beautiful user-facing experiences and teaching others around you to do the same, this is the role for you. Depending on your interest and performance, there may also be an opportunity for people management in the future, but we won't focus on that initially—there's too much to build!

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of industry experience as a frontend software engineer in a user-facing web application, having shipped real projects to real customers (and learned from your mistakes along the way)
• Fluency with React (preferred) and/or other view frameworks, and experience with design systems, data fetching, performance optimization, responsive design, component design, accessibility, build systems (Canvas, Web Workers, ifFames, WebGL, etc., is a plus)
• An intrinsic urge to polish pixels and interactions—when you have a spare moment in your day, you can't help but fix such things.
• A builder's and learner's spirit (you've built something on the side just for the fun of it, stay on top of open-source developments, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A passion for continuous learning and growth as a software engineer, as well as helping peers in their professional development

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Product Management, and industry experts to build high-quality product features.
• Take on new challenges and responsibilities as needed, and be an enthusiastic team player in a dynamic startup environment.
• Help shape the company by participating in hiring decisions and contributing to our culture of continuous learning and growth.

Initial projects may include:

• Building crucial features to enable us to go live with new enterprise customers.
• Building an interactive graph-like workflow visualization in HTML Canvas.
• Building real-time client/server data sharing via GraphQL subscriptions.
• Optimizing page load times for users around the world.
• Co-owning our design system and continuing to build components, tokens, and documentation for it.
