About the role
The Personal Lines Product Filing Specialist is responsible for a multitude of tasks including the preparation and submission of filings for Personal Lines products and programs to all State Insurance Departments.
The role will ideally operate on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) in Whitehouse Station, NJ. Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE offices will be considered.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for submitting filings to State Insurance Departments.
- Responsible for direct contact with State Insurance Departments for the purpose of obtaining approval of filings as expeditiously as possible.
- Ensures an effective level of collaboration and communication with Product Services Manager/Product Services Analyst, Actuarial, the Business and General Counsel to secure information necessary complete a filing.
- Distributes State objections to the appropriate individuals and ensures responses are received and submitted within the required timeframes.
- Obtains copies of statutes and regulations that have been referenced in a State objection and distributes to responsible party.
- Finalizes responses to State objections with appropriate attachments for submission to the State.
- Communicates State specific updates.
- Completes close-out of filings in accordance with established state filing procedures.
- Coordinates data calls, premium surveys, and other State mandated reports
- Assists in gathering information and documentation in response to Market Conduct Exams, Claims Requests, and Internal Audits.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- SERFF filing experience and knowledge of State Filing requirements a plus but will train
- Knowledge of insurance products helpful.
- Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat required.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Team player; collaborative; commitment to service.
