Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.
In this unique engineering position as a Global Strategy Senior Electrical Engineer, you will join a diverse and highly energetic team of professional Subject Matter Experts to optimize, innovate, and deliver datacenter power harvesting and optimization solutions through cutting edge engineering techniques, AI Modeling, innovative feasibility assessment, statistical analysis and more. This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to (50)%.

Responsibilities
The candidate will directly support the Datacenter Engineering (DCE), Global Strategy Team.
Duties to include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform detailed analysis of datacenter Space, Power, Cooling and Network, (SPCN) assessment to identify power harvesting opportunities.
- Collaborate with Power Harvesting program managers and Datacenter Operations engineers and Program Managers to develop site specific Power Harvesting and Optimization strategy and Plans of Execution, (POE).
- Develop datacenter deployment layout for both Commercial Could and GPU at the datacenter rack level.
- Develop creative and innovative solutions to optimize and utilize stranded capacity while keeping all customer services secure.
- Seek emerging and initiative-taking opportunities to optimize Microsoft’s installed capacity and increase revenues for the business.
