Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Medical Card Hotline/Foster Care & Adoption Records Supervisor. Under direction, this position will analyze, evaluates, and implements policies and procedures for the Agency’s Medical Card Hotline and Foster Care and Adoptions Records. The position will plan for program needs and serve as working supervisor of subordinate paraprofessional staff. This position will also review and determine whether children are enrolled with an appropriate managed care plan based on DCFS case type. Essential Functions
- Serves as Medical Card Hotline/Foster Care and Adoptions Records Supervisor
- Serves as working supervisor
- Reviews and determines whether children are enrolled with an appropriate managed care plan based on DCFS case type
- Utilizing knowledge of DCFS eligibility rules and practices, provides technical support to foster/adoptive parents with pharmacy, pre-authorization, and medical billing issues
- Conducts training for new staff regarding the navigation of multiple computer systems and the interpretation of information contained therein
- Confers with management and recommends establishment or revision of policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of administration of the Medical Card Hotline
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
- Requires one year of responsible administrative experience
