Survey Party Chief

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Survey Party Chief for our Lawrenceville, New Jersey office.  Be involved in projects with our Survey Geospatial Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

• Candidate can expect to be a leading role in the field for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy - from rural areas to urban areas.
• Perform boundary & topographic surveys; engineering design surveys; GPS surveys.
• Ideal candidates will be detail oriented and organized.
• Candidates may interact with clients and the public while in the field and need to represent WSP in a positive and professional manner. 
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
   

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma is required or GED. 
• 9+ years experience working in the survey profession and capable of handling topographic surveys using conventional and/or geodetic technology.  
• General efficiency in Auto CAD/ MicroStation - capable of downloading and editing field data
• General awareness of land survey principles, practices, process, methods and techniques
• Experience with robotic total station is a plus.
• Valid driver license is required. Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Proficiency with survey equipment.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Must possess a willingness to learn.
• Must be willing to work in all environments (rural, suburbs, city, etc.).
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
