The Opportunity

As a dedicated Quality Property Reinspector Senior, within defined guidelines and framework, ensures a quality property repair estimate and valuation product by focusing on targeted areas to continuously calibrate the reinspection process, validates reported findings and provides an objective subject matter expert (SME) knowledge to the Property Claims community and Third-Party vendors. Drives USAA's financial strength by measuring and reporting estimate accuracy for Property Claims and Third-Party vendors.

This is a field based role that is open to any current field employees or can work out of any of the following offices: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Dallas, TX, Tampa, FL, or Chesapeake, VA.

What you’ll do:

  • Measures property estimate accuracy through conducting thorough, timely re-inspections/audits of property and property repair estimates, and reports on payment accuracy and compliance by method of inspection (PDRP, Independents and Third-Party vendors).
  • Reports reinspection/audit findings on payment accuracy and compliance by method of inspection (Staff, PDRP, Independents and Third-Party vendors) for corporate score cards.
  • Leads and/or participates in ad-hoc audits and/or market audits in partnership with Claims StakeholdersProvides objective, proactive, and actionable feedback of Physical Damage (PD) policy, procedures and regulations to the Claims Stakeholders and Third-Party vendors.
  • Creates awareness and identifies innovative ways to further drive understanding of Property adjusting procedures and best practices to the Insurance Operations and Claims Stakeholders.
  • Serves as a Property Adjusting SME through post audit calibration meetings, ride-a-longs with other Property employees inspecting property, training materials, Property Director teleconferences and Property Champion teleconferences.
  • Applies expert knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, USAA property estimate/repair process and procedures.
  • Mentors team members and serves as a resource to enhance quality knowledge and auditing competencies/tool usage and assists with workload distribution/oversight of large-scale, special and/or ad-hoc audits.
  • Serves as a liaison between the re-inspection team and Auto Staff & MOI Team for CAT events, new processes, best practices, sharing of trends and opportunities for our 3rd Party suppliers.
  • Acts as team subject matter expert on Quality Auto reporting through gathering data and drafting monthly reports and audit summaries and conducts monthly reviews of reinspector work product and report results to Quality leadership.
  • During a catastrophe, or post event, performs property reinspections for a minimum of 28 consecutive days during/post catastrophe.
  • During a catastrophe/event, requires working time requirement of 7 consecutive days, 7:00AM-7:00PM, member time.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you’ll have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 4 years relevant property field adjusting experience, with at least 2 years property reinspection experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of auto claims contracts and interpretation of case law.
  • Experience writing estimates in Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
  • Knowledge and experience of property claims contracts.
  • Knowledge of property construction and structural repair techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • 4+ recent years writing Dwelling estimates in Xactimate and XactAnalysis
  • Experience with Xactimate Quality Review software (XAQR)
  • Prior leadership experience
