Summary

 

Responsible for coordinating employees within assigned shift to achieve production targets under supervision of the Production Manager and Plant Manager. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

 

• Recognize and enforce safety regulations
• Monitor production, inventory and quality control standards that are established by management
• Coordinate and work with manager and workers for timely production of all jobs, maintenance of normal inventory and development of new products
• Help support and encourage positive employee morale
• Analyzing work orders to determine material and machine to be used
• Notify Maintenance of defective machinery to determine cause of the malfunction
• Participate in setting up and operating machinery
• Supports inspections work in progress and finished product
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of equipment
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilites

 

• Ensure all safety rules are followed and employees follow safety program
• Follow up with on training outcomes with new hires and current employees
• Supervise employees in department to ensure they meet quality standards

Requirements / Education / Experience

 

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous leadership team roles with direct reports

 

 

Physical Environment

 

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. No lifting more than 40 pounds without using a forklift, dolly or other apparatus as permitted
• Endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Walking up and down elevated catwalks and stairs and standing for long periods of time
