Responsibilities

The Public Safety/Security Director will assist the Director of Plant Operations by supervising and directing the operation of the Security Department. Will provide day-to-day supervision and management of the Security staff. Will ensure that all requirements, regulations and documentation involving the security department is completed. The Public Safety/Security Director will secure and protect the patients, visitors, staff, building, and property. Will investigate and submit reports on assaults, thefts, damage to personal and facility property and all related security issues. Assists the staff in the handling of combative persons and situations. Will maintain communication with the local law enforcement agencies. This position is typically for multi-facility locations and/or large hospital campuses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. High School diploma or equivalent required

2. Two (2) year college degree preferred

3. Five (5) years experience in healthcare security supervision work or related field.

4. PC 832 / Level 1 law enforcement training or higher.

5. Reserve Deputy / Police Officer experience. Can be substituted for experience with the Department of Corrections, Military Law Enforcement, or healthcare security management.

6. Able to manage security operations at multiple locations/sites
