Job Description Summary
Oversees the strategic and operational aspects of materials and operations planning flow within our organization, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and place to support production and customer demand. The Planning and Materials Leader will create the Capitol and Flow Part Planning Inputs and lead the execution and continuous improvement of wing to wing materials processes. They will partner with the leadership team to develop a customer focused environment that maximizes on-time delivery while minimizing inventory.Overall responsible for strategic planning, demand planning, inventory management, team leadership, budget management, performance management and continuous improvement within your function.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
· Lead a team of planning and materials personnel in materials and operations planning, inventory, and procurement requirements, demonstrating strong integration with fleet performance management, Regional Services Fulfillment Teams and cross functional stakeholders
· Ensures that standard materials processes and standard KPIs are used to provide the best delivery with the lowest inventory cost for the assigned area
· Support the SIOP process (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning): contribute to material procurement timing, order release timing requirements, available capacity, & lead-times
· Lead capacity requirements planning processes by gathering & loading information into planning tools, analyzing data, and providing regular updates
· Ensure that the planning schedules are synchronized using ERP and other tools. Ensure that training and skills necessary to use planning tools are provided and tools are monitored for appropriate use
· Report, monitor and improve materials related KPIs: inventory balance, inventory turns, on time delivery, on time to need, system health & usage, master data adherence
· Lead and Monitor all the logistics activities such as incoming receipts, days to stock, inventory alignment, and shortages
· Develop planning model in RACES oracle that can be forecasted to suppliers and can be automated in the ERP
· Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes
· Uses experience and expertise to solve problems logically, get to root cause and implement prevention to avoid recurrence
· Identifying opportunities to improve materials planning and logistics processes through Lean, Kaizen and the implementation of best practices or new technologies
Qualifications/Requirements
· For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Services & Services Project Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
· For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
· Oracle Races R12 and PLM experience
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing or engineering
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
