The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
 

The successful Database Security Engineer at Solventum will join the security operations and engineering team as a data security expert who improves and secures Solventum’s data storage solutions.  They will advise software engineering teams on data security best practices for cloud-hosted and on-premises data storage and will promote data security best practices. They will work with application teams to ensure production databases meet security guidelines and compliance standards such as SOC II, GDPR, FedRAMP, etc. They will build solutions that collect and present application vulnerability and compliance data to Solventum’s leaderships.

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND 7 years of database administration or data security experience

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from AND (11) years of database administration or data security experience

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of database technologies like: MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Redshift, DynamoDB, ELK stack 
  • Ability to author automation scripts for reoccurring tasks

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree or advanced professional certification(s)
  • Experience with ETL processes and the use of APIs for data ingestion and manipulation
  • Experience with security vulnerability tools as Qualys, Tenable, etc.  
  • Familiar with best practice database security requirements in established control programs (NIST, HITRUST, FedRAMP, or similar)
  • Experience with reporting tools and methods
  • Knowledge of JSON, YAML formatted documents
  • Experience working as a Linux and Windows system/security administrator
