Job Duties

Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living; ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position; ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others; and possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions. Must be able to work required overtime and perform CPR.
The Patient Care Technician will be required to complete training and/or competency on:
1. One-to-one patient monitoring competency
2. Aspiration Precautions
3. Facility required mandatory training
4. Assisting certified/licensed staff with assigned patient hygiene.

This position will only be utilized for one-to-one staffing in a clinical setting where other licensed and certified staff is available to provide care. This position can also be utilized to accompany HDMC resident/patient via ambulance where an ambulance staff is available to provide care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

Must obtain personal care assistant certification (if you do not currently possess one).

Required upon hire and annually thereafter, to complete all mandatory training.

Additional Considerations

Working experience as a non-certified nursing assistant within the field of medical-surgical, psychiatric, Rehabilitation, geriatrics or mental retardation.
