The Role
The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for Local Switch Planning and Local Traffic Engineering in support of Voice Network Simplifcation.
Location
This is a Work from Home position within the U.S.
The Main Responsibilities
- Anticipates capacity requirements in the network using forecast data, existing network inventory data, growth trends, and standard architectures, models, and configurations regarding TMD Switch Consolidation. Responsibilities include job creation, funding, and supplying hand-off documents to engineering. Ensure that all affected data bases are updated upon job completion.
- Plans, manages, and engineers network elements and facilities using input form technical and engineering requirements, input from other departments, and budgetary considerations. Responsible for monitoring, timing, sizing, and pricing of network element additions, including quotes and locating replacement MD equipment in legacy switches (5E, DMS, AXE, etc.).
- Build new groups in TIRKS and TRDB for ILEC and infrastructure.
- Work with Service Managers and Providers daily to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Monitor network for under-utilization for assigned Providers as well as Infrastructure, ILEC, and IXCs.
- LERG & ASR activity.
- Routing and interconnections into the PSTN.
- Regulatory requirements.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
- 6+ years of related experience
- 4+ years of related experinece with a Master's Degree
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
