Do you want to be a part of a national security mission that conducts research and development? Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is seeking a full-time Senior Scientist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide diagnostic fielding and development support in a national laboratory environment. The Stockpile Experimentation & Operations (SEO) organization is looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist to develop mathematical models for analyzing data from experiments in support of the Stockpile Stewardship mission.
The Senior Data Scientist will play a lead scientific role in the development and analysis of data from complex measurement systems, with a focus on basic and applied research in stockpile stewardship. This position requires active participation in the field with the scientific, technical, and engineering teams, direct interaction with experimental partners from the National Weapons Laboratories, and independently driven model and algorithm development. The ideal candidate will build direct relationships with the laboratory partners and provide scientific guidance to experimental operations, also reporting on accomplishments to internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to supporting stockpile stewardship projects, the Senior Scientist will be expected to maintain an active research portfolio, participating in the Site-Directed Research and Development program, including research in support of current projects for characterizing diagnostic systems and image enhancement. This includes publishing scientific results and presenting research developments at professional meetings and conferences and to university partners.
