Cybersecurity Project Manager

As a Cybersecurity Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to lead critical cybersecurity initiatives from start to finish. Your work will include planning and managing security-focused projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, coordinating across technical and business units, and mitigating risks to safeguard systems and data. While every project will bring new challenges, your primary goal will be to drive forward cybersecurity improvements that protect the organization and support strategic objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Develop detailed work breakdown structures for cybersecurity initiatives, including identifying resources, assigning roles, and defining responsibilities.
• Ensure security requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and integrated into project plans.
• Facilitate project meetings with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors, ensuring alignment and progress.
• Create a positive, collaborative environment that fosters trust and innovation in addressing cybersecurity challenges.
• Manage and communicate project performance, including status updates, risks, assumptions, decisions, and interdependencies, with a focus on mitigating cybersecurity threats.
• Oversee security assessments, vulnerability testing, and compliance validations, ensuring projects meet organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead project handovers, readiness assessments, and post-implementation reviews, documenting residual risks and follow-up actions.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven expertise in cybersecurity: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI), and emerging trends.
• Excellent communication skills: Ability to translate technical cybersecurity concepts into clear, actionable terms for diverse audiences.
• Customer-focused mindset: A passion for solving client challenges and ensuring secure solutions.
• Strong organizational skills: Ability to manage complex projects and priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Adaptability and problem-solving ability: Flexibility to navigate the evolving cybersecurity landscape and respond to urgent threats.
• Collaborative leadership: Experience inspiring and uniting cross-functional, global teams to address security objectives.
• Motivational attitude: Positive and proactive approach to leading change in the face of cybersecurity challenges.
• Industry knowledge: Familiarity with corporate security programs, compliance standards, and risk management processes.

Location

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
