The Job:
As a Data Security Engineer/Analyst you’ll be part of our Cybersecurity Office (CSO) team located virtually. You’ll get to:
- Data Protection:
- Develop, implement, and manage data security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard sensitive information.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify and address vulnerabilities in data storage, transmission, and processing.
- Encryption and Tokenization:
- Implement and manage encryption and tokenization solutions to protect data at rest, in transit, and during processing.
- Ensure the proper configuration and use of cryptographic technologies to maintain data confidentiality.
- Incident Response:
- Collaborate with the incident response team to promptly investigate and respond to data security incidents.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans specific to data breaches.
- Data Classification and Handling:
- Implement and maintain a data classification framework to categorize data based on sensitivity.
- Provide guidance on appropriate data handling procedures and access controls.
- Security Monitoring:
- Monitor data security logs and alerts to identify and respond to suspicious activities.
- Work with Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts to correlate data security events with broader threat intelligence.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate data security audits.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and compliance, to align data security measures with overall security objectives.
- Provide expertise and support in data security matters during the development and implementation of new systems and applications.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent.
- Proven experience in data security engineering and analysis.
- In-depth understanding of data protection concepts, encryption algorithms, and cryptographic protocols.
- Solid understanding of applied cryptography (Encryption, Authentication, Symmetric Cryptography, Asymmetric Cryptography etc.)
- Knowledge of how to implement and validate encryption at rest and in transit.
- Expertise in data classification, data ownership, labeling, data extraction, sharing, backup, and retention.
- Experience in implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and additional column-level encryption for PII and restricted/confidential data.
- Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) technologies and strategies.
- Experience with secrets storage and management in cloud and On-prem environments.
- Knowledge of how to segregate production and non-production data and environments.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
