Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior-level Environmental Planning professional to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team in Southern California. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering environmental planning, impact assessment, permitting and compliance services to our key clients. Our EPP team serves numerous federal, state and local government, non-governmental organization, and private industry clients, delivering a variety of resource management, infrastructure, and development-related projects. The role would involve serving as a seller-doer, involving managing projects or tasks involving CEQA/NEPA documentation, technical studies, and permitting, and leading and supporting business development activities. The successful candidate will have excellent written and spoken communication skills, leadership experience (project teams, clients, and technical), organizational and time management skills, and flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
- Providing CEQA and NEPA and permitting expertise, oversight, and accountability for projects.
- Serving as Project Manager on different size projects, including financial management and reporting, subconsultant oversight, and technical staff management.
- May also serve as a contract manager, task manager, or technical subject matter expert, depending on the contract and project assignment.
- Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
- Responding to a variety of ongoing requests to support projects under our existing contracts, including refining task needs, scoping and costing tasks, and identifying and assigning staff.
- Engaging in business development activities and pursuits. Prepare effective technical proposals and take an active role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
- Providing leadership in mentoring personnel, including reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback.
- Acting as a quality verifier for technical work products.
- Participating in professional associations/events relevant to the industry.
