Senior Analyst, Accounting

BioMed Realty is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to join the team in San Diego, California. Reporting to the Senior Director and working closely with the finance and business intelligence departments, the successful candidate will prepare quarterly and monthly reports related to various non-GAAP metrics and be responsible for ensuring data integrity within the accounting and financial reporting systems. This is a very dynamic role with the opportunity to assist with various special projects within the department, such as creating new reports as needs arise and assisting with integrating new acquisitions into the accounting systems.

This position offers a hybrid work model, which includes 4 days in office and 1 day remotely. Hybrid work may be modified based on the needs of the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external monthly/quarterly non-GAAP financial reporting related to debt, property-level net operating income (NOI), funds available for distribution (FAD), and working capital
• Prepare debt-related PowerPoint slides for various monthly and quarterly deliverables
• Perform monthly close and quarterly reporting related to the company’s fund investments
• Manage monthly building allocation process in Oracle EMP Cloud reporting system to include recording actuals in the system, performing reconciliations to MRI accounting system, and resolving any variances
• Maintain various MRI accounting system and Oracle report formats to ensure new general ledger accounts are properly mapped and reports tie to underlying trial balance detail. Investigate and resolve any variances
• Collaborate with accounting team members to determine any new reporting needs. Act as a liaison between the accounting team and the Business Intelligence team to translate needs into customized system reporting solutions
• Assist with the integration of new acquisitions into accounting and financial reporting systems and reports
• Support the accounting team with other recurring or ad hoc projects, as needed

Job Specifications

• BA/BS in accounting, finance, economics or related field required
• 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting role is preferred
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is required
• Strong technical proficiency in PowerPoint, MS Word, and Outlook is required.
• Experience with report writing in accounting/ financial reporting systems is preferred
• Experience with MRI or Oracle EMP Cloud reporting system is a plus.
• Experience with SQL is a plus.
• Experience with real estate industry is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities.
• Ability to convey technical information in a clear and concise manner verbally and in written correspondence, reports and presentations

Salary: $92,000 - $115,000 per year + bonus + long term incentive + benefits
