Field Construction Manager

Qualifications:

  • Preferred construction management degree with minimum of 5 years of construction project experience or 8 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in building and managing both Construction and professional field teams
  • Proven Communication and negotiation skills with clients, Subcontractors and internal teams

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute a project value of up to $30mm
  • Written and computer skills, excel, word, SAP
  • Able to develop and execute a Safety Activity Plan project specific
  • Can develop a construction execution plan and implement it within the project
  • Develop and execute a project specific Inspection and Testing Plan
  • Ability to manage Professional staff associated within the project including but not limited to, Project controls, Quality, Safety, field Eng., Project accounting and Materials management.
  • Ability to assist Different company departments
  • Able to perform Construction coordinators duties when needed.
  • Develop an indirect staff and craft labor plan
  • Facilitate site Construction meetings with PM and client
  • Manage final project walk an inspections pre/post construction.
  • Able to generate data with associated costs to Assist PMs with C.O. requests on materials needed, manpower needs and durations for Electric Heat Trace, Insulation, Steam Tracing, Power distribution and Instrumentation
  • Facilitate and manage to a 3 day or up to 30/60/90 day look ahead plan and schedule
  • Provide customer constructability plans to support construction execution.
  • Attend Est. change order reviews on labor placements rates and provide best installation practices.
  • Assist Eng. with install knowledge and best practices
  • Ability to perform field isometric sketches of piping and equipment, field take offs of Elect Heat Trace, Instrumentation Insulation and power distribution
  •  Assist with Recruiting for TIMCO employees

  • Manage all Project completion documentation required for the project and turn over documentation to the client
  • Work and maintain a punch list with all associated close out documents
  • Hold project team accountable to nVent QA/QC program
  • Preform reviews on project craft labor and supervision on performance/accountability and safety
  • Manage budget thought control process to measure project health,

PPA reports Schedules, Primavera and or excel FPD field entries Field Material requestions SAP time entry / Tool entries Change management process Contract documents Daily / weekly reports Est. review Eng., ISO’s, P&ID’s, Field routed as built drawings

  • Product knowledge
  • Manage and promote to all craft labor and supervision nVent Safety First Culture and “STOP WORK AUTHORITY”
  • Hold project team accountable to Safety requirements i.e., Weekly safety reports, daily JSA’s, weekly safety meetings, first aid requirements, injury reports and near miss reports Etc.
  • Be able to vet all new/existing employees, including but not limited to qualifications an application knowledge of perspective craft level or supervision level they currently are established at.
  • Evaluate new employee’s safety culture to see if it aligns with company standards.
  • Understanding rules per NEC/NFPA requirements, along with OSHA training and guidelines.
  • Industry knowledge of installation practices but not limited to:

Conduit takeoffs and installations Heat Tracing Wire sizing and take offs Transformer requirements Grounding requirements MCC general knowledge Panelboard requirements Communication circuits and installations Conduit routing & wire sizing per NEC requirements C1D1 /C1D2 Cable tray installations and requirements Instrumentation capability’s Steam Tracing capabilities Electrical Troubleshooting Installations of Insulation types and uses Insulation and jacketing covering Heat Tracing Underground Insulation and jacketing systems to meet frost line specifications Equipment Insulation applications Tank Insulation applications Cryo Insulation applications Acoustic Insulation applications Personnel Protection Insulation applications Cold work insulation applications Equipment heads insulation fabrication of any type Insulation fabrication for piping appurtenances Trac Loc standing seam insulation installations Hot service Insulation installations  Insulation systems over Steam Tracing Metal jac
