About the role

The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for Project Manager - NERC Compliance within the Energy Solutions Department. This role will focus on managing our NERC Compliance service offerings.  The individual will report directly to a Project Manager leader in Energy Solutions.  This position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, leadership and business development.

What You’ll Do

  • Manages resources for NERC Compliance scopes
  • Review Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the NERC Compliance scope, appropriate scope/fee for NERC Compliance deliverables for the proposal. 
  • Manage resourcing for NERC Compliance deliverables
  • Set up and lead kick off meetings for NERC Compliance scope with internal technical resources
  • Set up and lead regular meetings with external client to manage NERC Compliance scope
  • Lead transition from project design deliverables to NERC Compliance deliverables
  • Attend internal and external project calls to support technical discussions
  • Set up schedule for NERC Compliance deliverables, continue to communicate and update with customer and internal resources
  • Set up an initial Request for Information (RFI) and ensure that technical resources are updating accordingly and continue to manage them with the client as well as internal resources
  • Ensure that internal resources are staying on schedule and that clients are providing information in a timely manner so deadlines can be met
  • Attend potential customer meetings and speak to NERC Compliance services that Ulteig offers
  • Track comments received from customers and responses from internal resources
  • Track evolving NERC Compliance standards and advise on how it affects Ulteig deliverables and clients’ projects
  • Ensure that the Quality Check process is followed and that proper PE reviews are conducted
  • Drive proactive conversations about change orders, budgets and project delays, etc

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required from ABET accredited university or equivalent
  • Some exposure/knowledge to power system modeling tools (PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF), substation protection, renewables is a plus
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude. 
  • Strong industry knowledge
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external clients.
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and highly responsive, internally and externally. 
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
  • Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty. 
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
