This Country manager Belgium position offers the opportunity to manage the operations in Belgium and be a part of our management committee, participating in strategic decisions at a European scale and influencing energy solutions across borders.

Job Description

Role

As the Country Manager for Flexcity Belgium, you:

• Are the face of Flexcity in Belgium, fully responsible for the P&L performance of Flexcity’s business in Belgium and will lead a team of 5 to 10  in sales, portfolio management and technical on site installations with an ambition to grow in size.

• Build the vision and strategy of Flexcity in Belgium by developing new services together with your team

• Pilot our commercial development by working with our sales & portfolio teams in Belgium

• Oversee our portfolio of flexible energy assets, leading both its growth and management

• Collaborate closely with Transmission System & Market Operators, as well as Veolia's flexible assets and energy divisions in Belgium.

• Navigate the demand response market landscape within Belgium and contribute to our international perspective

• Empower the team to achieve financial and strategic milestones set annually, in coordination with our direction committee.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and revise the business plan for Belgium, ensuring it aligns with our international objectives and Veolia's overarching vision.

• Pursue revenue and margin goals while considering the broader company direction.

• Foster and drive the company's strategy both within Belgium and on a global scale, incorporating Veolia's initiatives.

• Assess and mitigate financial risks.

• Spot and capitalise on new market opportunities, especially those that align with Veolia's core services.

• Oversee flexibility product bidding strategies.

• Monitor and respond to regulatory shifts. Represent Flexcity at various energy regulatory working groups and professional associations.

• Uphold operational continuity within Belgium, while coordinating with other country operations. On-call duties may be required.

• Occasional travels within Belgium to meet clients and prospects and to Brussels to meet with the international teams and management.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• Fluent Dutch, French, and English

• A solid foundation in the Energy sector, preferably electricity markets, backed by 5-10 years of relevant experience.

• Management & leadership experience 

• Proven commercial proficiency.

• Technical & digital curiosity, particularly within energy and sustainable solutions.

• Ability to strategize and analyse with precision.

• Ideally adeptness in Ancillary Services
