Registered Nurses in the Post Surgical Unit are an integral part of the surgical team, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients following surgical procedures. The nurse ensures each patient manages post-operative pain, promotes early and safe ambulation, progressing safely toward their baseline level of function and readiness for discharge, supporting an optimal recovery process and continuity of care.

Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced post-surgical environment. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons and post-acute caregivers to provide a seamless continuity of care from pre- to post-op. Registered Nurse Post Surgical Unit at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington:

• The PSU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. 
• He/She ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
• The RN cares for all ages from 2 years to geriatric.
