Job Description: The Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE) provides academic and instructional support for ERAU’s Worldwide Campus aligning with the University’s strategic plan, specifically goal #3 – Achieve academic excellence with exceptional programs and outstanding faculty. The Instructional Consultant II (Level 2), is responsible for guiding, mentoring and developing faculty throughout their lifecycle with ERAU-W. This is accomplished through regular communication, observation, and individualized consultation that supports faculty as they prepare to teach, when they are actively teaching and as they wrap-up teaching requirements. This can include reviewing courses to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and evidence-based instructional practices, engaging in dispute resolution by effective communication with academic advisors and college leadership as well as collaboration with college leadership to quickly address concerns and offer additional training opportunities. The Instructional Consultant II will serve as an expert in pedagogy, instructional technology, reflective teaching, and the scholarship of teaching and learning, and as such is expected to actively and continuously engage in professional development activities to remain current in teaching and educational technology trends, and stay up-to-date with Embry-Riddle’s curriculum, instructional technology, and policies.

The Instructional Consultant II will be responsible for training and mentoring new faculty by facilitating iTeachER, the required faculty training experience, and engaging in regular supportive communication with new faculty during their first term teaching. The Instructional Consultant II will also identify instructional opportunities and provide appropriate support through regular consultations with new and veteran faculty and in accordance with college recommendations.
