About the role
The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) is responsible for ensuring full compliance of Reworld Field Services (RFS) boiler and pressure vessel repair work with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) requirements. This includes oversight of all work executed under the NBIC "R" and ASME "S" and "U" Stamp programs held by Reworld Projects, LLC.
The QAS verifies work performed by both Reworld employees and certified contractors, ensuring adherence to code standards, inspection protocols, and documentation requirements. This role identifies and resolves non-compliance issues in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining the integrity and trust associated with ASME and NBIC certifications.
Given that pressure part failures are a leading cause of unplanned downtime in Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plants, this role plays a critical part in improving reliability through effective inspection, material verification, weld quality oversight, and proper installation practices. The QAS reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Implement the Reworld QA/QC Program across shop and field sites as scheduled
Ensure all code requirements and specifications related to fabrication, assemblies, material control, storage, and examinations are met
Verify purchase order language aligns with ASME code requirements during material receiving inspections
Manage incoming and outgoing code materials, pressure and non-pressure part assemblies, and welding consumables (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW)
Maintain liaison with Authorized Inspectors (AI), clients, and client inspectors
