Why CALM?

 It’s an amazing time to join us as CALM was just awarded a substantial $694,000 grant from the Department of Health Care Services to implement and scale Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) across Santa Barbara County! This exciting opportunity affords CALM the resources to establish an 18-month learning collaborative for up to 18 therapists with dedicated time for training, consultation, and implementation of CPP and the ability to hire and train a new Clinical Supervisor in this modality and CALM’s other evidence-based practices.

What is Child Parent Psychotherapy? 

CPP is an intervention model for children aged 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event (e.g. maltreatment, the sudden or traumatic death of someone close, a serious accident, sexual abuse, exposure to domestic violence) and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Summary:  

CALM is looking for a driven and dedicated Intake Supervisor to join its Clinical Team, part-time, 20 hours a week.  This role plays a key leadership role in ensuring the seamless delivery of services by overseeing all aspects of the preadmission process at CALM. This position supervises therapists, manages incoming service requests, monitors the waitlist, and ensures timely and accurate client screening. The Intake Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of care, compliance with agency policies, and adherence to legal and ethical guidelines. Additionally, this role involves collaboration with program leadership to match clients with appropriate services, identifying community resources for referrals when needed, and contributing to continuous quality improvement within the intake team. Key responsibilities include staff supervision, operational oversight, quality assurance, and fostering positive client experiences during the initial stages of engagement with the agency.  This role can be combined with Therapist role for an opportunity for full time work. (i.e. 20 hours a week intake supervisor responsibilities + 20 hours a week in direct client facing services)

How will you make an impact:

• Oversee all aspects of the preadmission process, ensuring efficiency, high quality, and successful service delivery. 
• Provide administrative and/or clinical supervision to Intake Therapists. 
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train therapists responsible for completing preadmissions. 
• Support Intake Therapists in providing a welcoming and compassionate experience for potential clients. 
• Ensure all potential clients are assessed appropriately and directed to the best resources, either within CALM or through referrals to external partners. 
• Monitor the call-back list and ensure timely responses to potential clients. 
• Conduct data audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of preadmission documentation. 
• Maintain up-to-date intake resources, including workflows, protocols, and the Intake Manual. 
• Assist with client walk-ins or crisis calls as needed to ensure immediate support. 
• Facilitate weekly meetings with Program Managers and the Intake team to discuss case assignments and coordinate admissions. 
• Collaborate with CALM’s clinical leadership team to align intake practices with service delivery needs. 
• Partner with community organizations to promote CALM’s services and manage referrals. 
• Regularly review and refine intake protocols to enhance efficiency and quality of service delivery. 
• Identify and implement changes to improve the preadmission process based on data trends and feedback. 
• Ensure compliance with all CALM policies, procedures, and legal requirements. 
• Contribute to regular supervision and performance evaluations for intake staff. 
• Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.
