Deputy Chief of Anesthesia

Job Profile Summary:

Delivers Direct And Indirect Nursing Care To A Group Of Patients Through The Use Of The Nursing Process In Collaboration With And As Directed By Physicians And Pursuant To The Objectives And Policies Of The System.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing clinical anesthesia services while leading, supervising, and managing the CRNA and CAA staffing team.

• This position ensures high-quality, safe, and cost-effective anesthesia care and serves as the primary liaison between department staff, anesthesiologists, surgeons, hospital leadership, and other healthcare providers.

• Collaborate with the Director of Anesthesia in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and retention of department staff.

• Provide mentorship, address staff concerns, be a staff resource for facilitating communication between staff and the Director of Anesthesia. 

• When assigned, help with special projects to develop, update, and enforce policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.

• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, resource allocation, strategic planning, and quality improvement.

• Help with developing new clinical practice guidelines and techniques. 

• Educate and train staff as indicated.  

• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes.
