We are searching for the best talent for a hybrid Staff Specialist, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) to be located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Purpose:

Under the direction of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Enterprise organization, this role will be primarily responsible for the environmental, health and safety infrastructure for the Patient Service Center (PSC) organization, including the pharmacy, office locations in Pittsburgh PA and remote employees across the US, This role is responsible for ensuring operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local EH&S regulations, as well as Johnson & Johnson EH&S Standards.

Additional responsibilities include environmental, safety and health programs such as ergonomics, permit-to-work, construction/contractor safety, project reviews, job safety analysis development and review, injury and incident investigation, powered Industrial vehicles and general occupational safety.  This role will partner with the site leadership team to establish and implement an EH&S strategy and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) in alignment with the J&J Enterprise EH&S organization.

  

This role works closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders:

Internal: PSC Pharmacy Operations, Facilities, Quality Compliance, site management, Employee, Health & Wellbeing and J&J Enterprise EH&S organization.

External: Regulators, 3rd party consultants and assessors and contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and support as the key EH&S resource servicing PSC locations in Pittsburgh PA and remote employees.

• Partner with local management to develop and implement a site Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) to address EH&S program deficiencies and ensure EH&S regulatory compliance.

• Monitor CAPA progress, providing leadership, technical support and professional expertise to ensure Enterprise and site goals are met; ensure all records are properly maintained and reports are prepared/submitted in a timely manner.

• Monitor compliance with regulatory permits, conditions and other EH&S reporting requirements.  This individual will understand applicable Federal, State, and local EHS laws and regulations, standards, codes and guidelines and interpret requirements to client groups.

• Develop EH&S objectives for the site by auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on implementation and effectiveness to management via dashboards and reports.

• Monitor and evaluate EH&S operation risks, including change management, ensuring continuous improvement of the EH&S management system to make it leaner and more efficient.
