QA Test Engineer

Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a QA Test Engineer to join our Software Test team in our NYC headquarters.  The QA Test Engineer will analyze our current in-house custom testing software.  The QA Test Engineer will communicate with developers regarding new features and fixes to translate precise requirements for the software test team to execute testing processes.  This individual will execute the testing part of the software workflow in Jira to close out tickets.  This is an exciting role where communication and precision will be greatly valued.

Position Responsibilities

• Execute, Maintain, Analyze current in-house custom testing software
• Communicate and understand new features/fixes from the Developers and translate to concise requirements
• Create acceptance test plans that can both cover new features
• Regression testing of existing functionality
• Execute these acceptance test plans
• Work with rest of test team to translate them into in house testing solutions for automation in the future
• Follow and execute the Testing part of the software workflow in Jira to validate/test and close out tickets

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with Wave Relay products
• Experience with Quality Assurance processes
• Experience regression testing
• Detail oriented
• Succinct and thorough communication skills
• Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with system level testing and automation integration
• Technical writing or ability to document and convey technical information
• Experience with Jira and Confluence

The base pay for this role can vary from $102,000 to $128,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
