Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? Look no further! Vantive is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Engineer to join our exceptional Disposables R&D team in Plymouth. What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as the technical expert and product design owner for disposables product families, design history files, and complex design change programs.
- Coordinate and communicate the efforts of R&D in collaboration with global cross-functional stakeholders for both internal updates and external regulatory audits.
- Creative Problem Solver – identify technical and cross functional risks up front, develop and execute mitigations and provide team direction on how to remove or avoid roadblocks.
- Build strong relationships with Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Clinical partners for a broad understanding of stakeholder needs to provide innovative solutions.
- Schedules, budgets, and leads product development life cycle management activities with minimal guidance.
- Drive adherence to design control procedures, general safety rules, company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and FDA regulations.
- Apply state of the art techniques to manage design history files and implement design changes for disposables products.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional and global project teams.
- May supervise engineers and/or technicians.
- Contribute to Vantive intellectual property through invention disclosures an d patent applications.
- Occasional travel up to 15%.
What you'll bring:
- BS in Mechanical, Plastics, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, Masters preferred.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of related experience in Class II or Class III medical product development
- Working knowledge of plastics materials and processing such as injection molding, extrusion, ultrasonic welding, UV/solvent bonding, and sterilization.
- Provide solutions that reflect understanding of business objectives.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor others from technical expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of medical device design controls preferred.
- Able to objectively identify ambiguous and diverse technical problems and create solutions.
- Able to organize and present technical and project overviews independently.
- Communicate frequently and efficiently with internal and/or external contacts.
- Self-directed, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Able to work independently in a fast paced and results driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and influencing skills.

At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120-150,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
