About the role
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Strategic Purchaser plays a key role in sourcing components, instruments, and services for Biosero’s integrated lab automation solutions. This position is responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement. The role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications teams to meet project timelines and respond to changing customer requirements in a dynamic setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly work at a computer workstation and access information from a computer. The individual will regularly listen and speak in person, on a telephone or via video meetings. The individual will occasionally spend time on foot, walking around facilities. The individual will occasionally be required to lift, carry, or move equipment of varying weight. Certain tasks will occasionally require bending, stooping, or kneeling. The employee will occasionally move up to 50 pounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and evaluate suppliers to support both standard and custom components, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery meet Biosero’s standards.
- Analyze procurement spend and supply chain trends to identify sourcing opportunities, cost savings, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead RFQs, RFPs, and supplier negotiations for key categories including instrumentation, mechanical parts, and third-party automation equipment.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by coordinating early supplier engagement and sourcing strategy during design and prototype stages.
- Build and manage strong supplier partnerships, ensuring on-time delivery, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to define specifications and sourcing requirements for custom-built or configured-to-order parts.
- Maintain and update supplier data and performance metrics in ERP system (NetSuite) and internal project tools.
- Ensure compliance with Biosero procurement policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education / Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within automation, life sciences, or manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with Engineering, Production, and Customer-Facing teams.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Excel, and procurement tools.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Experience sourcing automation components, laboratory instruments, or custom mechanical parts.
- Familiarity with life sciences industry requirements and quality standards.
- Supply chain certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or APICS a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
