- Full Time/Part Time: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM with flexibility
Position Overview:
The purpose of this job is to manage research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and ensure it proceeds in a smooth and effective way. This individual manages and assigns staff and other resources to effectively initiate and submit protocols, recruit study subject patients, assist in grant proposals, contribute to manuscripts, provide proscribed study follow-up, submit IRB applications and provide IRB follow up. The Clinical Manager, Research develops program performance metrics and goals and identifies performance improvement opportunities. This position maintains a collaborative and supportive relationship with Principal Investigators, Co-investigators, research staff, research administration and intra-departmental staff.
What you will do:
- Develop research priorities in conjunction with the Admin Director of Research
- Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation to achieve identified goals
- Perform all aspects of staff supervision including, recruitment, hiring, orientation, mentoring and performance management of research staff.
- Liaise with network and study collaborators and colleagues to achieve productive relationships and deliverables
- Develop standards of performance, monitor performance, and address performance issues according to Endeavor Health policies and procedures with input from Principal Investigators, Scientists or others, as appropriate.
- Ensure staff is fully oriented to the work environment and duties and are competent to perform their jobs
- Facilitate necessary research certifications, continuing education, and training for staff
- Oversee staff time and attendance per Endeavor Health policies and procedures; assist with Time and Effort reports as appropriate
- Develop performance and operating metrics for research activities
- Determine financial requirements, metrics and performance for research activities
- Work with study team members and RI to ensure timely invoicing and payments
- Manage and approve check, reimbursement and resource requests per Endeavor Health procedures
- Support investigators' potential research funding sources, grant writing, and grant submissions
- Liaise with Endeavor Health’s Research Institute for budgeting and administration
- Co-author and assist in the preparation and presentation of scientific posters and journal articles for publication, as requested.
- Assist with grant submissions
- Provide assistance to the Director of Obstetrics, the Director of Gynecology, the Chairman and others in the provision of data for auditing purposes, quality improvement, and quality assurance.
- Assist with clinical research tasks as needed
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned
What you will need:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school for professional licensure; BSN or LCSW strongly preferred, Masters a plus
- Experience: 2-5 years clinical experience; minimum of two years’ experience in program and staff management with undergraduate or graduate degree in Management, Leadership, Health Administration or equivalent or minimum of five years program and staff management experience is required. License:
- License: Current professional Licensure in the State of IL required (RN, LCSW, etc)
- Skills: Demonstrated strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and foster teamwork, are required. Excellent interpersonal skills consistent with management of research staff and broad-based, inter- and intra-departmental interactions. Must possess the ability to work effectively and productively as a member of a diverse team of individuals. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and ownership of assigned responsibilities. A background in clinical research principles and processes including IRB approval, Women's Health and Epic is desirable.
