JOB SUMMARY: Contribute to the overall success of the Transportation Department, including but not limited to driver training, federal and state compliance, and other administrative tasks. Provide training to employees to obtain a CDL license or Non-CDL (white fleet) certifications and testing. Assist with ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requirements. Provide classroom, skills course, on-the-job training, and retraining. Complete and maintain safety and training records and performance evaluations.

Conduct classroom and on-the-road training to drivers to include safe driving maneuvers, skills course, (ELDT) Entry Level Driver Training, CCSD Policies and Procedures, State and Federal Regulations, and employee interaction with the students.

Provide route coverage as required during AM and PM shifts.

Conduct post-training feedback/evaluations and retraining as requested.

Evaluate evacuation drills, student safety programs, and student management training. Assist with maintaining federal and state compliance for these programs.

Provide guidance, training, and evaluation of Drivers, Staff and Mechanics, and other transportation employees with regards to safety aspects and standard operational duties.

Create and maintain electronic training records that are required by federal and state programs.

Provide training to crossing guards, food service and warehouse box truck employees, small vehicle and multi-function vehicles.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Two (2) years of Must have (2) years of CDL Driving Experience to obtain Entry Level Driver Trainer (ELDT) Teaching Certification
- Must meet the insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
- Must successfully complete special needs train
