Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for existing physiotherapy staff and new physiotherapy graduates to join our innovative and pro-active Band 5 rotational scheme team rotating across the four sites of the H.G.S. component of the UHB Foundation Trust
The successful candidate will progress through a variety of specialties of MSK, Trauma and Orthopedics, Neurology, respiratory rotations and community rotations. You will be based at the following sites: Good Hope, Heartlands, Solihull Acute and Solihull Community Services and will spend four months in each location consolidating their knowledge and skills working under the supervision of mentors.
The Trust is supportive of staff development and well-being, with teaching and mentoring and 1:1 supervisions being provided across all areas and teams. Additional preceptorship training and support is available for all new registrants. There is the opportunity for peer support and band 5 champions have a direct link to therapy management.
A flexible and organised approach to working is required as Therapy services are committed to seven day working and on call and some shift patterns are based on extended hours.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The clinical role of the band 5 Physiotherapy is to be responsible for their own caseload, without direct supervision. They perform functional assessment of patients, rotating through different clinical specialities in the acute and community settings.
A band 5 receives supervision and development in the form of regular training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and case conferences
There will be opportunities to take part in evidence based audit and research projects to support both teams and clinical practice.
You should have sound written and verbal communication and organisation skills, and be motivated and committed to the working within the therapy service.
You must be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients living in locally.
Will contribute to a 7 day working rota and with provided training participate on the on call physiotherapy service

*Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.
*A Levels or equivalent qualification
