Indian River State College is seeking a dedicated individual for our Farmworker Jobs and Education Program, supporting our mission to provide meaningful opportunities for individuals and families. JOB SUMMARY:
Under general guidelines, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Farmworker Jobs and Education Program. Key responsibilities include working closely with the Dean of the Northwest Center and administrative staff from the Children and Families and Department of Labor programs. The role also involves coordinating efforts with public and private agencies to effectively carry out the mission of the Farmworker Jobs and Education Program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all day to day to day operations of the Farmworker Jobs and Education Program;
- Manage fiscal and budget responsibilities to include ensuring fiscal and programmatic compliance;
- Develop and monitor contracts for program elements in support services;
- Supervise staff who are located in each of the four county areas to include completing all associated supervisory responsibilities;
- Design, implement, evaluate, and monitor programs for Farmworker customers;
- Serve as a liaison with the State Department of Education Division of Farmworker Jobs and Education;
- Complete all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related social service field;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supervisory management;
- Possess current available certifications such as a State license in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or certification via “Certified Workforce Development Professional”;
- Proven prior experience in administration to include budget and grant preparation and monitoring;
- Experience in collaboration with community-based agencies and college administrators;
- Possess excellent communication skills – both verbal and written in order to effectively communicate with people at all levels;
- Ability to develop and implement training programs in the areas of policies, procedures, and career management;
- Ability to utilize computers and the appropriate software in the execution of training modules;
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Prior work experience with people of economical and educational disadvantaged backgrounds is preferred.
