JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Software Developer Senior Principal will lead full stack web application development, demonstrate expertise in cloud-based technologies like Kubernetes, and support the full software development lifecycle to include designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing critical applications. This is a hybrid role located in Fort Bragg, NC with the option for flex hours. 

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT 

As a Software Developer Senior Principal, you will play a critical role in partnering with product managers to understand customer requirements, designing enterprise full stack applications, and demonstrating hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and cloud technologies to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions for some of the nation’s most consequential missions.

Job Duties (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) 

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade full-stack applications, including building complex UIs with React and TypeScript, developing RESTful services in Go (Gin), managing relational data in PostgreSQL, and deploying containerized applications using Docker.
  • Build complex, interactive UIs using modern React patterns, including state management, data fetching (e.g., React Query), component libraries (e.g., MUI), and advanced features such as drag-and-drop, data visualization, and document generation.
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and real-time data streams (e.g., WebSockets).
  • Deploy, orchestrate, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Leverage tools like Elasticsearch and OpenSearch to implement efficient search, indexing, and data retrieval capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and deliver clean, maintainable code.
  • Participate in major application rewrites, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing codebases and workflows.
  • Document software designs, development processes, and system functionality.
  • Apply best practices in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud development.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Support application testing, debugging, and deployment processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with strong proficiency in web application development.
  • Experience designing schemas, writing efficient queries, and optimizing performance in relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Deployment of containerized applications using Docker; experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration platforms is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices, including CI/CD, version control (Git), and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a "figure-it-out" mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic team environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
