Cryptographer

The Cryptographer II is responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing cryptographic protocols and algorithms to encrypt sensitive data. This role focuses on securing and enhancing the reliability of technical code while integrating blockchain and smart contracting systems. The position involves reviewing and testing code performance, debugging issues, and providing feedback on design decisions. Collaboration with engineers and designers is key to developing systems that mitigate data risks. Additionally, the Cryptographer engages with clients and stakeholders to understand security and privacy requirements for software deliverables.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property. 

• Knowledge of blockchain technologies and smart contract systems is required.   

• Must be able to articulate security and privacy requirements to clients and stakeholders.   

• Must have strong debugging and code-testing skills.   

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Helps design, engineer, and implement cryptographic protocols and algorithms to ensure the security of sensitive data.   

• Secured and improved the reliability of technical code, ensuring best practices in encryption.   

• Reviews and tests code performance, identifying and debugging issues as they arise.   

• Integrates blockchain and smart contracting systems into existing infrastructures.   

• Provides clear and constructive feedback on design decisions to enhance security frameworks.   

• Collaborates with engineers and designers to develop robust data risk prevention systems.   

• Engages with clients and stakeholders to gather and understand security and privacy needs for software deliverables.   

• Continuously stays updated with advancements in cryptography and related technologies.   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two to four (2-4) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
