Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with MANTECH!MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Engineer to join our team remotely and at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.
The Senior Database Engineer will leverage their technical expertise to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the organization’s database systems. This role supports the management of hardware and software components, optimizes performance, and ensures the integrity of sensitive data across Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the design, development, support, and maintenance of the organization’s database systems and network components.
- Managing vendor or open-source database software while optimizing objects for enhanced performance and capacity planning.
- Providing comprehensive technical reviews and making recommendations on technical direction and cybersecurity measures.
- Managing hardware and software updates, monitoring performance, and overseeing server/database configurations.
- Supervising and mentoring subordinate project and Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff members to ensure team growth.
- Collaborating with other Database Administrators to ensure enterprise-level database synchronization and data integrity.
- Handling sensitive data ethically while providing high-level technical support to database users in secure facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related discipline with 9+ years of relevant experience in Information Systems.
- Educational equivalency of a High School Diploma with 13+ years, or an Associate’s with 11+ years of experience.
- Significant experience in position-specific database engineering or administration for at least five years.
- Experience working across large teams to drive a technical agenda and manage complex, intertwined data flows.
- Experience inventorying complex networks and maintaining documentation for security compliance and configuration management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD 8140.01 IAT Level-II Certification within six months of starting.
- Attend meetings at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.
