THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for a Front-End Software Engineer for the new front-end Wallet team in the Payments Vertical. You will be the third engineer to join a brand-new team that started this spring. That means you will be a part of establishing team and coding norms and best practices.

We’re looking for passionate technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to learn from and educate others. As a software engineer, you will work in empowered, multidisciplinary teams, autonomously tackling complex challenges that provide the very best experiences and products for a growing community of millions of players as we build out an exciting and innovative customer experience within the fast paced and growing sports betting environment.

As a mid-level Software Engineer in Wallet, you will execute on defined tasks and contribute to solving problems. You will work on the scope of engineering team tasked to translate ideas into clearly written code, participate in code reviews, while maintaining high coding standards and overall quality.

When a successful solution is identified, you’ll help the team to build it for scale and longevity for our rapidly growing company. You will participate in the team’s various ceremonies, delivering sprint commitments, and will work with other Software Engineers and Quality Analyst on a product roadmap. Most importantly, you are a driven engineer seeking growth, collaboration, and are a passionate advocate for our customers.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.


THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate ideas and requirements into clear code and functional UI components.
  • You will build and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using modern JS frameworks (React).
  • You will debug and troubleshoot issues across browsers and devices and collaborate with Quality Engineers to write automated tests using Jest and Cypress.
  • You will integrate RESTful APIs into the front-end.
  • You will contribute to performance optimization and monitoring and support A/B testing and feature flag implementations.
  • You will be expected to follow through on your sprint commitments, take responsibility for your work, and deliver the work on time.
  • You will be expected to proactively share relevant information on your tasks, including difficulty level, status updates, and potential trade-offs that could impact a roadmap.
  • You will drive discussions with your manager about aspirational goals and seek out opportunities to learn and grow.

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 2+ years of experience building modern web applications using JavaScript and frameworks such as React.
  • Strong understanding of HTML/CSS/JS and responsive design principles.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A user-focused mind set: You care about building intuitive, accessible, and polished user experiences.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, including giving and receiving feedback through code reviews.
