Personal Care Aid

Job Summary:

The Personal Care Aid provides essential support to individuals who need help with daily living activities. This often includes assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, as well as providing companionship and ensuring the client's safety.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Help our clients to live a full and meaningful life.

Able to provide hands on ADL care in the shower, toileting, dressing, skin care, etc. as needed.

Continuously ensure all medical equipment is in proper working order, and report when it is not.

Drive the handicap van, and transport clients to work, appointments, and activities.

Monitor ongoing medical issues regarding catheter care and skin integrity.

Taking vital signs.

Administering (primarily) medications to the clients.


Assist in planning, food shopping, prep and cooking client’s food.

Preparing paperwork for and attending appointments.

Potentially, assisting in a therapeutic handicap assessable pool (would need to be in the pool with the clients).

Would need to think outside the box to encourage client compliance.

Work directly under an RN, learning, and reporting.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Friendly, outgoing and overall good interpersonal skills

Proven to be reliable and dependable

Flexible

Strong communication and negotiation skills


Required Education and Experience:

PCA or CNA Certification (Massachusetts)

MAP Certified (Will provide training)

PABC Certified (Will provide training)

Valid Driver’s License w/ reliable transportation (car)

COVID guidelines – PPE, etc.


Travel requirements:

Heavy Travel – required to have a car
