Job Description:

The Senior Group Manager Finance oversees a team of Business Finance professional roles that provide strategic financial analysis, insights, decision support and/or reporting results and/or provide guidance and advice to various internal and external stakeholders.

Department Overview:

As a part of US Finance Product Management team, this role leads the development and supports the achievement of financial objectives for the Franchise Credit Card business. The Senior Group Manager manages and provides consulting, planning and analytic support on financial results, providing interpretation through in-depth understanding of the business. The role is responsible for the development of forecasts and financial plans to drive business results, strategy and growth decisions. The role requires creativity, innovation, having ability to learn and apply skills and new knowledge to improving existing and designing new processes and tools.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Oversees a team of Finance professionals for key business segments or a significantly large part of the organization
  • Requires in-depth shareholder and/or broad financial and business perspective
  • Scope may include integration of activities and Finance support for several key business lines 
  • Focuses on longer-range issues dealing with and solving highly sensitive, confidential and/or multifaceted and complex financial management issues
  • Primary interface and high level resource to Business leaders on financial performance measures/business objectives/goals
  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function’s or business segment’s overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise
  • Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Accounting or financial designation preferred
  • People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant experience; Credit Card experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with well-developed presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and data analytics with strong technical skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Essbase, Tableau).
  • Ability to employ complex analytical tools and statistics to perform analysis and forecasting of financial and other business information
  • Comprehensive practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodologies including actuals reporting, variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Develop analysis and reporting to illustrate trends and identify areas of opportunities as well as contribute to the identification of key performance indicators.
  • Ability to act as a business partner, providing advice and analysis to fully explore results and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, develop, lead, and execute projects and deliverables.

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Develops and maintains good relationships with internal Finance business/specialized Finance partners and other stakeholders
  • Effectively communicates relevant/meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization
