POSITION SPECIFICS
The Director of Aquatics & Head Coach of Swimming is a dual-role leadership position responsible for both the management of all aquatics programming and facilities, and the strategic oversight of the university’s intercollegiate swimming program. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of balancing coaching excellence with operational and business acumen.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Head Coach – Swimming Program
Lead all aspects of the men’s and/or women’s intercollegiate swimming program, including:
Designing and implementing training sessions and practice schedules.
Assesses individuals' abilities and skill level to determine appropriate team position
Analyzing student-athlete performance and developing individualized practice plans.
Assists players in reaching highest athletic potential through athletic training and leadership skills
Analyzes opposing team performance and capabilities and determine competition strategy
Coordinating team travel and competitive scheduling.
Direct and manage the full recruiting process: Identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain prospective student-athletes.
Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
Serve as the face of the swimming program: respond to media requests and promote the program accordingly
Build alumni, donor, and community engagement in collaboration with the Coordinator of Partnerships.
Mentor student-athletes to support academic success, personal growth, and leadership development.
Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.

Director of Aquatics – Facility & Program Management
Oversee daily operations and long-term planning for the university's aquatics facility.
Collaborate with facilities and maintenance staff to monitor and maintain mechanical systems.
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all lifeguard and aquatic support staff.
Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users.
Develop and implement aquatic-based programs including:
Recreational swim and fitness classes, to include: wwim lesson
