Hybrid DPT Program Director

The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is accepting applications for the position of Hybrid DPT Program Director for the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS) within the Morsani College of Medicine to begin Spring 2025.

This is a 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position at the Associate or Professor level, available as either tenured or non-tenured, and will remain open until filled. This newly created role reports directly to the Director of SPTRS/Associate Dean of the Morsani College of Medicine.

The position involves approximately 20-25% administrative duties, with additional responsibilities (e.g., teaching, research/scholarship, and service) based on the candidate’s qualifications and the program’s needs. The Hybrid DPT Program Director is a new position created as SPTRS continues to expand its educational, research, and clinical missions. The Hybrid DPT Program Director will be a faculty member with an administrative appointment, responsible for development and management of the Hybrid DPT program, including program and curriculum development and classroom instruction. Our CAPTE accredited program maintains excellent program outcomes. Additionally, SPT&RS benefits from being part of a multi-disciplinary, inter-professional team as part of USF Health and the Morsani College of Medicine.

The position will provide leadership to achieve high educational achievement and program outcomes, while fostering collaboration and teamwork among the residential and hybrid physical therapy programs. They will join a strong leadership team that includes the Assistant School Directors (Athletic Training Program Director, Physical Therapy Program Director, Clinic Director, Research, Finances and Human Resources, and Cultural Enrichment and Environment).  

Responsibilities:

• Development and oversight of the hybrid DPT program including curriculum, program assessment, and accreditation
• Hybrid DPT program faculty leadership, development, and/or mentoring in innovative teaching approaches
• Pursuit of research/scholarship
• Administrative responsibilities within SPT&RS (e.g., management of the Hybrid DPT program)

Minimum qualifications: 

• Must be a physical therapist who holds a current license to practice as a physical therapist in any United States jurisdiction and is eligible for licensure in Florida.
• PhD or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) years of full-time higher education experience, and a minimum of three (3) years of fulltime experience in a physical therapist education program.
• APTA membership
