Valid driver's license must be insurable by University insurance carrier. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulation. Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and holidays required. Grade 6 (Salaried)

Position Description:

This Athletic Operations Program Manager I (Director of Operations, Women’s Lacrosse) acts as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach and supports the University of Louisville’s commitment to competitive excellence, student-athlete development, and strategic growth of the program.

This role provides teaching and technical expertise to allow student-athletes to compete at their highest potential while also serving as a liaison for fundraising, development initiatives, and special projects on behalf of the Head Coach and Athletics Department.

The Director of Operations, Women’s Lacrosse, assists in all aspects of managing a highly competitive NCAA Division I program, including recruiting, skill development, practice planning, game preparation, compliance, and student-athlete welfare while cultivating relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners to enhance financial support and engagement for Louisville Athletics.

This position reports directly to the Head Coach.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting & Student-Athlete Development

  • Assist in developing and executing an effective recruiting strategy within NCAA, ACC, and University guidelines.

  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with prospective student-athletes.

  • Support the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes through mentoring and guidance.

Fundraising & Development

  • Collaborate with the Cardinal Athletic Fund and University Advancement to assist in fundraising efforts, including NIL initiatives, philanthropic giving, corporate partnerships, and premium seating sales.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with (local) donors, alumni, and corporate partners to secure new gifts for the Louisville W. Lacrosse Program and enhance existing commitments.

  • Support high-level donor cultivation events in the city of Louisville, stewardship efforts, and special projects as directed by the Head Coach.

  • Assist in implementing fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals.

Program Administration & Special Projects

  • Serve as a key liaison between the program and university offices (e.g., equipment, business operations, academic services, compliance).

  • Manage logistics for team travel, budgeting, and operational planning.

  • Execute special initiatives on behalf of the Associate Head Coach, including community engagement, alumni relations, and program-building events.

Compliance & University Representation

  • Abide by and promote the policies, procedures, and goals of the University of Louisville, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and the NCAA.

  • Ensure student-athlete adherence to all NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Represent the program with integrity and professionalism in all public and private settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Five (5) years of sport administration, coaching, or playing experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.

  • Collegiate coaching experience in an NCAA Division I program.

  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or revenue generation within collegiate athletics.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, Ticketmaster/Archtics, or other fundraising/ticketing platforms.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ARMS, Teamworks, or other team management platforms.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Louisville community and its fundraising and development communities.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
