Analyst, Municipals Product Strategist

About this role

The responsibilities of a Municipal Product Specialist analyst include:

• Demonstrate a full understanding of BlackRock’s municipal line-up, strategy, and services with the ability to create and give detailed presentations on all of the above
• Candidate must be committed to keeping abreast of municipal market environment, attend departmental meetings and stay informed of department and firm thought leaders fixed income outlooks and analysis.
• Timely delivery of high quality communications, both written and oral that cover product information as well as up to date municipal market analysis
• Act as a gatekeeper for product information as well as for the investment team managing external and internal requests on their behalf
• Work with senior members of the product specialist team to maintain product and markets presentations and deliver requests for data and information in a timely manner
• Regularly interface with portfolio management and credit research team in order to gain a thorough understanding of portfolio composition and credit views.

Qualifications

• BA/BS is required.

• Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills and an ability to synthesize complex issues and ideas.  Solid written and oral skills.
• Strong quantitative skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft  Excel and PowerPoint.
• Superior organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Self-starters who are also team players and able to demonstrate good judgment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects.
• Series 7 and 66 required or expected to be completed within 6 months of hire
